One 60-day journey circling the Australian Coast is being halted following the fatal incident of an older woman who was stranded by the cruise liner on a distant island.

The elderly woman had been trekking on Lizard Island with other travelers from the Coral Adventurer, but broke off from the excursion for a break. The liner left without her and went back several hours later after the ship staff became aware the passenger was not present.

A large-scale search operation found her person the subsequent day.

Authorities are looking into the tragedy, alongside law enforcement and the official investigator.

Chief Executive of the shipping company stated that travelers and crew on the vessel were told that the remainder of the cruise had been terminated due to the "sad loss and earlier mechanical issues".

Via official communication, he further stated that travelers would be issued a total repayment, and said the operator was working "to arrange the homeward trips of the individuals via private aircraft".

Authorities also issued an updated statement, and said they had "provided a directive to the Commander" preventing any new passengers from boarding the ship.

The official said that they would visit the liner in the Australian city upon its arrival.

The liner initially left the coastal city on 24 October, and was merely two days into the voyage at the point of the 80-year-old's death. The tropical location was the first stop on the journey.

Guests on board - who typically pay substantial amounts of dollars to take part in the voyage - were taken there for a shore visit with the choice of walking or snorkeling.

The child of the deceased woman said that her family was "stunned and distressed that the liner left the location after an organised outing without my parent".

Through her comments, she characterized her mother as an "vigorous octogenarian" who was a member of a walking organization.

"Based on limited facts we have been provided, it seems that there was a failure of attention and basic judgment," she said.

She further stated that she hoped the examination would be able to pinpoint what "the company should have performed that might have saved Mother's life".

"According to reports from the authorities that it was a extremely warm afternoon, and she took sick on the uphill trek," she stated.
